Let us extend a very warm welcome to you, whether you have never visited First Bangor before or if you have been coming for 50 years (or more).

““ “The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us” John 1:14 Mon 23rd Open Doors “…God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation." (2 Corinthians 5:19) [NIV] Please pray for: Eun-Yeong,(N.Korea) who has spent yet another Christmas in a labour camp, because of her faith. She may never see her children again: A breakthrough this year in the situation for Christians in North Korea. Pray also: That followers of Jesus in the Muslim world will live out their faith courageously and without fear & that Christian/Muslim relationships will improve, particularly in Nigeria and North African countries. Pray: That throughout 2012 God “ Will strengthen what remains and is about to die” (Rev.3:2 ) Tues 24th Pray & Give thanks for: Willis & Mark as they prepare for Sunday services, visit homes and hospitals. May God grant them health, strength and energy for each day’s task and may the Holy Spirit continue to work out His purpose through them. Continue to Pray for: Those who are sick, may God minister His healing touch to each one. Remember Those who have been bereaved, may the God of all comfort bless and sustain them in the days and weeks ahead. Pray: God would meet the needs of those who are going through difficult days due to unemployment, financial difficulties or broken relationships, may they remember & claim the promise of Jesus “ My Grace is Sufficient for You” (2Cor. 12:9) Wed 25th BLYTHSWOOD CARE: This year over 15,000 shoeboxes were sent to India. Give thanks for: Each box given and the joy it brought. PRAY: God continues to use the Gospel booklets and the love and care shown to children, families, the elderly and the vulnerable, to bring people to saving faith in Him. Pray: He will prosper the continuing work in Romania, Bulgaria, Albania and at home through their Food Banks. Thurs 26th PCI: BOARD of MISSION OVERSEAS (BMO) Mission Involvement, and Leadership Development Committees: Pray for: God’s wisdom and guidance in all that is discussed and decided upon by each committee;for a clear focus on what is ‘strategic’ and ‘important’ in God’s purposes. HUNGARY: Pray for: The people of Hungary at this time & for the government to act justly and fairly in all that it does and that it will change the legislation it has recently passed which many people are concerned about : Christian groups affected by the new legislation. Remember our friends in Telkibanya. Fri 27th SANDES: Please Pray for: Godly wisdom for the Government and those commanding our Armed Forces; the parcels which will be sent to the troops in Afghanistan & the safety of all troops currently deployed there; the Bibles, Christian literature and new Sandes dog tags being distributed through the centres. Give thanks for: This mission to all service personnel and all the centre workers on the mainland and here in N I. Pray for: A revival in the Church that will impact the whole Nation including the military community. Sat 28th The Leprosy Mission Northern Ireland. Praise God for: His work through TLM N I; for the sterling work of Colin Ferguson, and Sam Smith and all the church volunteers. Pray: God’s provision for all the Projects and hospital care in each country where they work. Continue to pray Young medics and physiotherapists will want to work in projects in the summer time, gaining first hand experience of the ministry. May all who celebrate in the work during the service on Word Leprosy Day tomorrow in Lisburn Cathedral @ 3.30pm praise God for his goodness, faithfulness and blessings. Pray for: Mr Peter Hilton, the speaker, may God use him mightily to inspire and encourage, for His glory. Sun 29th “ No longer do I call you servants.. but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you. (Jn 15:15) Give thanks: That Jesus is always our faithful forever Friend. “Hallelujah! What a Saviour! Hallelujah! What a Friend! Saving, helping, keeping, loving, He is with me to the end.” The dearest friend on earth is but a mere shadow compared to Jesus (Our Daily Bread Devotional) ”
