The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” James 5: 16b Mon 20th “Prayer is a matchless opportunity. Through prayer, people, things, problems and relationships can be transformed. Prayer has infinite power because it is directed to an infinitely powerful God.” (Basilea Schlink) “O God as I wait before You in prayer this day, give me a transfusion of Your life. Inject Your power into my withered veins so that I shall live abundantly; vibrantly; vitally in Jesus Name Amen. (Prayer rewinds the spring of life) Selwyn Hughes Tues 21st Pray & Give thanks for: Willis & Mark as they prepare for Sunday Services, visit homes and hospitals; May God grant them health, strength and energy for each day’s task and may the Holy Spirit continue to work out His purpose through them. Continue to Pray for: The sick, bereaved, those who are unemployed & facing an uncertain future or lonely & isolated, may they “Cast their burden on the Lord.” (Ps 55:22) and find healing and strength through the One who is able to do exceedingly more than we ask or think.(Eph.3:20) WED 22nd Pray Urgently and Earnestly: That God would prompt a person of His choosing to come forward, with the skills needed to take on the roll of Church Treasurer. Pray for: God`s guidance and wisdom in the election of new Committee Members. Give thanks for: All who are involved with Chattabox, the good numbers attending each week & for developing friendships. Pray: God would work in the lives of those who do not know Him yet. Thurs 23rd PCI: Fit for Purpose Programme; Becoming The Church Christ Wants Us To Be: This is an innovative programme of PCI to inspire and encourage creative thinking on how we focus on important aspects of Christian Witness. 5 key themes have been adopted to concentrate our thinking and inform our discussions and it is hoped they will be taken up in appropriate ways and owned at all levels in the Church during the next 5yrs. 2012-A Prophetic voice , confidently proclaiming where it stands and who it stands beside, in a society which is increasingly secular and often opposed to Christian values and lifestyle. 2013- A place of transformation;2014- A people of service and outreach;2015- A caring fellowship; 2016- A community of global concern. Please Pray Fri 24th SANDES: Pray for: The distribution and acceptance of the scripture and prayer dog tags through centres and parcels: The recruitment of the right person to take over the leadership of the Naval, Military and Air Force Bible Society: Devine inspiration for Padres each Sunday at home and on deployment. Remember our service personnel serving in Afghanistan and the Falkland Islands and their families at home. Sat 25th OPEN DOORS: Mexico: Missionary couple murdered; A married couple John Casias, 76, and Wanda Casias, 67 who had served for 28 years as Baptist Missionaries in Mexico were murdered on 31 January at their home near Monterrey in El Cercado, Santiago. They are survived by ten children, who have reportedly said they hope to continue their parents' ministry. Please Pray for: Comfort for John and Wanda's family, and wisdom as they seek to continue their parents' ministry; For courage and protection for Christians who seek to live for Christ and refuse illegitimate demands for allegiance from criminals who are bent only on destruction. Praise God: That another Acteal prisoner has been released. Ask God: To encourage the remaining prisoners and pray that justice would be done. Sun 26th “God make us a joyful and expectant Church, confident in Him who has made us His people, and given us a heavenly destiny. God make us no longer a Church of yesterday, but a Church of today and tomorrow. God make us mindful of Christ`s living presence in our midst, leading us where He wants us to go, no longer conformed to the world, it`s mind-set and lifestyle, but transformed by the Spirit`s renewing power.
