Men’s Football Fellowship has been running in First Bangor since 2003. Men’s Football is the perfect way to relax, stay fit and enjoy the ‘beautiful game’. Most of the players are members of the church, but we are happy to welcome anyone who would like to come along and join us.
We play indoors in the Guild Hall (the large hall upstairs). Any men over the age of 18 are welcome and we have men in their 20s, 30s and 40s with a wide variety of abilities. We try to meet most Monday nights from 8pm to 10pm between September and May.
Occasionally we play matches and charity tournaments under the alias of ‘Bangor City’. In recent years we have been denied in tournaments by dubious refereeing decisions, although the 2008 Bangor City squad have gone down in history as ‘The Invincibles’ – undefeated in the Comber Charity Tournament that year. A ‘Glory, Glory’ night for all who were there!
Some players to watch out for include…… Peter ‘Dunga’ Lockwood, Erick ‘head height’ Kennedy, Rocky ‘can we play another 10 minutes?’ Rowan, Gav ‘Mr Glass’ Devlin, Martyn ‘the cannon’ Drury, Gordy ‘Taggart’ Crozier, Neil ‘the wizard’ Rogers, ‘Quick’ Clive Kirkpatrick, Simon ‘I’ve got cramp’ Kelly.
If you would like to come along to Men’s Football or find out more, contact Simon on 0776 501 4060.
